Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand

Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand

On top of my computer breaking this week; I also got such a grand scale sliver that I needed to get it removed in the hospital because it was so lodged in my hand.
Although it happened when I was removing some old flooring and it snapping; I joked to the admitting nurse that it happened during the first time I used chopsticks and I think I did it wrong!:) That inspired me to make a Meme of my grand scale sliver!:)

Let there be posts again!:)

Let there be posts again!:)

Whoa, it’s been a long time since my last post! These photos I took in Toronto while having the Weekly Photo Challenge in mind for the topic “Let there be light.” I never got around to posting them due to being extremely busy and my computer being a huge jerk and deciding to quit on me; One week before school is finished for the term with my final projects trapped inside. I want to travel to the Himalayas just to throw my laptop off Everest!:)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers

Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers

Last week for my entry in the Challenge on the topic “Habit,” I wrote briefly about Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford. I thought things couldn’t get any worse for the mayor and that he hit “rock” bottom (pardon the pun), but in true Rob Ford fashion, he made things even worse with even more ridiculous statements and confessions leading to more protests and satire.

Yesterday I was at an awareness protest for climate change  but the wake of the anti-Rob Ford mob left an interesting chalk mural behind that really grabbed my attention. Some of it funny, some of it very cruel but all interesting nonetheless.  I don’t condone the mayors actions nor condone how he’s been dehumanized by the city and the media but as a photographer I was very happy I was able to get these few snapshots on society.

Left outside of  Toronto’s city hall was a box of chalk for citizens to layer the wall with their contempt for the mayor. Here’s what I saw.

In the summer I moved to a city that’s about a 40 minute train ride from downtown Toronto, Canada in order to go to art school. I’m sure many have you have heard about the mayor of Toronto and his bad habit. Yes, he’s the one that admitted that he smoked crack while he was in office.
I’m not fully sure what he was thinking with that PR move? I’m pretty sure the first thing you learn in politics school is if somebody asks you if you smoke crack, you say NO!:)
Hopefully that international news won’t scare you away from our very diverse and maybe too accepting city. We’re not all crack smokers, just our politicians are on crack!:)
When the earth keeps spinning despite months of scandals, shutdowns, extended vacations and crack smoking in Western Politics. It really reminds you that they don’t seem to do much other than argue, play and smoke Candy Crush when there’s really serious shit happening all around us and all over the world.

Here’s a few photos from the downtown before I go back to my habitual homework!:)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Eerie

Weekly Photo Challenge: Eerie

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!:) In the spirit of the season and the weekly photo challenge, I created a new gallery;

The Six Eeriest Things I Didn’t Hallucinate At A Rave A Few Weeks Ago.

Was it the spirit of whatever I captured in these pictures that caused one neighbor to pull out a knife on a DJ? Or; Was it the trying to sleep through really loud music that pushed him to the brink? We’ll never know. Although; The music was so loud in fact that it caused the municipality to change its noise bylaws!:)

More Horizons Of Newfoundland: Port-Aux-Basques

More Horizons Of Newfoundland

Yesterday I posted a gallery of Horizon shots of Twillingate, Newfoundland. It was fun going through photos from last year and finding the odd shot I overlooked at the time. Here’s another album from Newfoundland. These shots were taken from when I spent a night in Port-Aux-Basques. A port town on the south-western tip of Newfoundland.

Horizons of Twillingate

Originally for the topic Horizons, the first place that came to mind was Twillingate, Newfoundland. Last summer I spent a week there and had tons of Horizon shots. I went crazy on the editing of some because like I said I had tons of horizons and wanted to mix them up a little. Here’s some of my favorites!:)

Simplifying the state of the planet.

Simplifying the state of the planet.

Economics can get confusing at times. Especially with sneaky greedy mortgage derivatives that cause a worldwide financial crisis leading to corporate bailouts that greatly increased world dept, putting even more burden on the working class and poor. Blah, blah, blah, you all have heard it all before so rather than to go on with my distaste and embarrassment for our current political system; I created this simple to understand economic photo chart because Pitchfork Unity speaks louder than votes and complaining. Always remember, we have way more pitchforks!:)
